Abstract:In order to compare the impacts of different information on the adoption of resource-efficient and environmental friendly technology by freshwater farmers, a regression model with social network as the instrumental variable is constructed based on the theoretical analysis of farmers' adoption behavior. It is shown that, (1) Obtaining technical information significantly promotes the adoption of resource-efficient and environmental friendly technology, the impact is to be underestimated without considering the endogeneity of technical information; (2) Different information has different impacts on the adoption of resource-efficient and environmental friendly technology. Obtaining using information has greater impact on farmers’ adoption of resource-efficient and environmental friendly technology than obtaining market information. In the using information, operation information has a greater impact on adopting technology than experience information. In the market information, price information has a greater impact on adopting technology than quality information.
