Abstract:In the context of data becoming a real factor of production and the innovative integration of digital technology with traditional industries, the digital transformation of commercial banks is also receiving increasing attention from academia and political circles. To reasonably match problems with methods, based on innovation ecosystem theory, using fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA) and NCA necessity test methods, and taking 46 listed banks (as of the end of 2018) as a sample, according to the six new capabilities of digital transformation and their corresponding innovation ecological factors determined by SASAC of the State Council based on the group standard T/AIITRE 10001-2020 Reference Framework of Digital Transformation , the influence path of the configuration coupling effect of innovation ecological factors on the quality of digital transformation of commercial banks and the complex causal mechanism behind it are analyzed. The results show that: (1) subject capability (digital talent), carrier capability (digital channel), process capability (digital organization), object capability (digital market), cooperation capability (digital partner) and technical capability (digital technology) are not the necessary conditions for the high digital transformation quality of commercial banks. (2) There are three models that drive the quality of high digital transformation of commercial banks: the point-axis development model driven by two wheels of "channel + organization", the multi-polar network model driven by two wheels of "market + partner", and the business pole-core model driven by "talent + technology . (3) There are four ways to drive the quality of non-high digital transformation of commercial banks, which can be divided into two types: "channel + technology" restraint and "channel + partner" restraint according to the core driving factors. This paper examines the path of "digital+" transformation of commercial banks from the perspective of innovation ecosystem configuration, and uses the QCA method to explore the impact of the synergistic coupling of entrepreneurial ecological elements on the quality of digital transformation of commercial banks. The findings are of great theoretical and practical significance in revealing the multiple realization paths of digital transformation of commercial banks. It inspires different types of commercial banks to explore more vital and adaptable digital transformation paths in combination with their own positioning, and provides reference paths and policy recommendations for the digital transformation of commercial banks.
