Abstract:Drawing on cognitive-affective personality system theory, this paper seeks to explore the mechanism of authoritarian leadership on employee helping behavior, and carried out statistical analysis on 190 questionnaires at two stage. The results showed that authoritarian leadership had a significant negative impact on employee helping behavior; perceived insider status and affective commitment played a chain mediating role in the relationship between authoritarian leadership and employee helping behavior, that is, authoritarian leadership reduced employee"s affective commitment by weakening their perceived insider status, and ultimately reduced employee helping behavior.
