The coal industry in Shanxi plays an important role in China's energy structure and national economy. But under the traditional economic model, it has difficulties in sustainable development. The only way out is to turn to circular economy. The paper gives some suggestions on how to develop Shanxi coal industry under the guide of circular economy theory.
