China's processing trade plays an important role in the connection between international trade and foreign direct investment. It is shown that processing trade has a significant effect on technological progress. On the one hand， processing trade can promote the import trade of intermediate products and capital goods， and bring new techniques and industry innovation directly； on the other hand， it can strengthen competition and cooperation among enterprises， improve their imitation ability， and enhance human capital fluidity.
