Based on the theory of co-citation analysis and the application of visual analysis technology of knowledge mapping, this study conducts a visual mapping of journal articles related to "enterprise design innovation" in CNKI (China National Knowledge Infrastructure), analyzing the progress, hotspots, and future trends of enterprise design innovation research over the past 30 years. The results reveal that China has made substantial achievements in enterprise design innovation research, primarily focusing on paths and mechanisms, such as the path research of design innovation driving enterprise development; technological innovation paths, independent and collaborative innovation paths, and mechanisms within enterprises. However, China's enterprise design innovation research faces numerous challenges, including low clustering effects among core authors and research institutions, scarcity of international collaborations and comparative studies, and limited research on macro-indicators. The future of enterprise design innovation research in China should prioritize interdisciplinary, cross-field, and cross-regional collaborative research; comparative studies with a global perspective; and integrated research combining macro and micro perspectives.
